Every now and again we’re craving something on the healthier side for brunch – grain bowls, fresh granola or even an egg white frittata . Here are eight amazing brunch spots that will leave you feeling satisfied in the best way possible.
East Pole
Pc: @theeastpoleLocated on the Upper East Side, The East Pole feels anything but that – the vibe here is super trendy and downtown cool. The menu includes a little something for everyone with options like the Wild Mushroom Omelet and the Smoked Salmon Crostini topped with ricotta cheese, capers, and red onion, YUM!
Two Hands
Pc: @eatingnycTaking inspiration from down under, Two Hands is an Australian cafe located in Tribeca. It’s a community spot where you come to eat some great food and unwind, much like the beachy lifestyle down in Aussie. Some menu items that we love are Pickled Chili Scrambled Eggs and the Acai Bowl.
Lighthouse
PC: @lighthousebkThis Williamsburg hotspot is all about making you feel at home. With their seasonal menus and locally sourced produce, Lighthouse is the perfect place for brunch on the healthier side. Our to-gos here are the green omelette and the farro bowl made with squash, herbed yogurt and a soft egg.
The Smile
PC: @EatingnycThe Smile, located in NOHO, is an American/Mediterrenean inspired restaurant serving up all of our brunch favorites. In addition to some great clean eats options like spring veggies and quinoa or steel cut oatmeal, they also happen to serve on of the best egg sandwich in the city, with black forest ham, gruyere and caramelized onion on an English muffin – perfection.
West-Bourne
PC: @EatingnycWest-Bourne is a California themed cafe located in SoHo that we truly love for any meal of the day. The menu here is entirely vegetarian, which is perfect for someone looking for a not so heavy brunch. This is the type of place you will want to hang around, long after you have finished your food, because it is just that inviting. Menu items such as the Graffiti Masala- a honey-roasted eggplant over cashews, peas, and quinoa or the Sweet Potato Smash will leave you feeling very very good.
Shoo Shoo
PC: @EatingnycShoo Shoo Nolita offers a contemporary take on Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on Israeli staples. This spot is brought to us by former 12 Chairs co-owner and is serving up some of the best hummus we’ve had in this city.
Sonny Boy
PC: @thecraveappSonny Boy is an Australian restaurant and cafe located on the Lower East Side. In addition to their insanely good and equally photogenic eggs, we also love their Hotcakes served with mascarpone, lemon zest, maple syrup, mixed berries and pistachio. PS – they’re gluten free too!
abcV
PC: @jgrestaurantsJean-Georges’ newish vegetarian concept, abcV, located inside ABC Carpet & Home is as delicious as it is beautiful. Everything on the menu is fantastic, and that is NOT just for a vegetarian restaurant. The menu is split up into five categories like ‘Brunch Bowls’, ‘Warm & Sustaining’, ‘Dosa, Toast, Pancakes’, ‘Vegetables & Fruits’, and ‘Grains & Legumes.’ You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here, so definitely make this a must try on your list!
