Dining out for breakfast has slowly but surely raised in popularity here in NYC. What does this mean for us? Exciting new offerings at traditional restaurants and the opening of all-days restaurants and cafes. Whether you’re craving a croissant and cappuccino, a great burger, or maybe both, here are some spots that do it all.
Studio
We are so excited about the recent opening of Studio at the Freehand Hotel in Gramercy. Their North African influenced menu includes some of the most addictive granola we’ve had and a perfect breakfast dish – The Simit Shlomo Platter – which includes with a Jerusalem Bagel, labne, z’atar, smoked char and a hard boiled egg.
La Mercerie
PC: La MercerieLocated in Soho, La Mercerie is a new all day restaurant that is totally Instagram worthy with turquoise velvet couches and colorful flowers. From the team behind Le CouCou, it’s no surprise that the food here is fantastic – we recommend the Oeuf Cocotte and the Tarte Normande aux Pommes with a foamy cappuccino.
Fairfax
PC: ZagatFairfax is another Gabe Stulman restaurant, formerly in the space of the beloved Perla. While we were sad to see it go, we’re happy with how they’ve transformed the space into a stylish and cozy Mediterranean-inspired all day restaurant. Favorites here include the burger and the carbonara flatbread.
Daily Provisions
Daily Provisions is a bakery and restaurant t by Danny Meyer aiming to serve the best food in every category, for anytime of the day. In addition to their iconic Glazed Crullers made, we are also obsessed with their BEC sandwich prepared with thick cut bacon, gruyere cheese and a fried egg on a soft poppy seed roll.
Atla
Enrique Olivera’s newest venture, Atla, is an all-day restaurant and cafe offering a modern take on Mexican fare. With an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients, Atla is known for their Arctic Char Tostada and for making one of the best versions of avocado toast we’ve ever had.
De Maria
PC: @nichole_franzenDe Maria is a newish Nolita restaurant and cafe known for their colorful salads, grain bowls and a Yuka Cake that we think about often. Whatever you go with, make sure you have an order of the Tiger Bowl on your table – it’s made with coconut grains, salmon, avocado, hijiki and black sesame.
Union Fare
Union Fare is a unique dining experience with several fast-casual stations offering everything from sandwiches to donuts and entrees like salmon, veggies and couscous. Our favorites here, though, are the bakery’s red velvet, birthday cake and matcha stuffed croissants.
Bluestone Lane
With several locations dotted around Manhattan, Bluestone Lane Collective is a reliable spot for a bite at any time of the day. This Melbourne inspired café serves a mean latte and offers favorites like avocado smash toast and housemade granola over greek yogurt.
