New York can be a difficult place to celebrate Thanksgiving. Oftentimes, being away from family and in cramped apartments makes cooking a feast quite a challenge. Instead, consider taking advantage of some of the special menus being served around the city. Be quick and book your reservation, though! These awesome restaurants will run out of room fast.
The Breslin
PC: Ace HotelApril Bloomfield’s high-end gastropub in the Ace Hotel is offering another family-style Thanksgiving dinner for $85 per person with an optional wine pairing for $45. The menu includes squash and wild rice soup, venison terrine en croute, and either turkey or rainbow trout. Pumpkin and pecan pie are the dessert options — great ones, at that. Go another time to try the famous burger — it’s one of our favorites.
Joseph Leonard
PC: Joseph LeonardThis cozy West Village restaurant is offering one of the more affordable pre-fixe options we’ve seen at $65 per person. Featuring French onion dip, pumpkin soup, roasted turkey and gravy, cornbread and sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more as options, this is guaranteed to be a delicious and comforting meal.
Maialino
PC: Gramercy Park HotelPriced at $115 per person, Maialino is serving up two upscale prix-fixe menus on Thanksgiving, one of which is an Italian-American inspired menu and the other with Maialino’s classic dishes. The Italian-American menu will include food such as butternut squash soup with chestnut tortellini and turkey with a polenta and kale sausage stuffing. Turkey stracciatella soup, malfatti with braised pork, and braised lamb with rosemary potatoes are options for the Maialino classic menu.
The Loyal
The burger at The Loyal. PC: Melissa HomJohn Fraser’s newest hotspot, The Loyal, will be offering a Thanksgiving meal from 11:30AM-9:30AM for 75$/person. Menu items here will include pumpkin ravioli, braised beef short rib, and free range turkey with craisin compote. Yum!
The Smile
Roasted vegetables from The Smile. PC: Eye SwoonThis homey NoHo restaurant is serving up a family-style Thanksgiving meal for $60 per person. Diners can go between 3pm-9pm to enjoy dishes such as biscuits with sweet potato and cheddar apple, apple cider brined turkey, and sourdough stuffing with dates and Italian sausage. For dessert, they’re making a bourbon pumpkin pie and a maple pecan pie. There are also vegan and vegetarian options. In addition, they are offering catering with the entire menu available to order for pick up or delivery from Smile To Go.
Eleven Madison Park
PC: EaterIf you’re looking to go all out this Thanksgiving holiday, EMP is your spot. Daniel Humm and Will Guidara’s famed restaurant will be making a family-style, four course meal for $245 per person and an optional $135 for a wine pairing. Included will be beet salad with caraway and mustard, roast turkey with caramelized apple and chestnut stuffing, lobster with squash and citrus, and much more. Dishes can be shared with up to 10 people so corral all of your loved ones and take advantage of a Thanksgiving meal at the recently rated best restaurant in the world.
Quality Eats
PC: Refinery29Opposed to most of the other options, this one, which happens to be one of our favorite restaurants in the city, has an optional prix-fixe menu *and* regular menu items. The West Village and Upper West Side locations’ Thanksgiving menus will be including a Roasted Turkey Monkey Bread Sandwich, in addition to a Fried Turkey Bucket For Two — $65/person – includes a Charred Brussel Sprout Salad with Roasted Parsnips, Thai Chili Buttermilk Biscuits, Sweet Potato Brulee, Sauteed Greens, Cranberry Mostarda, Brown Butter Gravy, and Hot Honey — and a Turkey & Turf For Four — $75/person – includes everything that the Turkey Bucket has, in addition to a Tomahawk Ribeye. All of the Thanksgiving options include a class of punch, which is a nice plus! Many dishes from their normal menu will be offered, as well. A full menu can be found on their website.
db Bistro Moderne
db Burger at db Bistro Moderne. PC: db BistroDaniel Boulud’s Midtown Bistro is serving up some Thanksgiving classics along with some Bistro favorites. This three-course $75 menu features items like Venison Foie Gras Pate, Amish Turkey and the original db Burger.
