Few things get us more excited than fresh lobster piled high on a toasted bun with a serious serving of fries and a beachside view. Though we can’t bring the beach to you, we present you with our favorite lobster rolls in NYC, from the iconic Mary’s Fish Camp to the seasonal Golden Hour at the High Line Hotel. Be sure to get these rolls in before summer officially comes to a close!
Mary’s Fish Camp
PC: @hungrygrlsMary’s Fish Camp is a true West Village staple offering great seafood year round in a cozy yet rustic environment. At Mary’s, they receive a fresh seafood delivery every morning, so you can expect your lobster to be freshly caught! Get one for yourself and pair it with french fries, greens or cole slaw for the full experience.
Greenpoint Fish & Lobster
PC: @infatuation_nycGreenpoint Fish & Lobster Co. is both a seafood market and restaurant that specializes in offering local, fresh seafood. In addition to their expansive raw bar selection and seafood entrees, they also serve a fantastic lobster roll made with hand-picked lobster meat, a slight touch of mayo, celery, lemon, Maldon sea salt and tarragon.
Red Hook Lobster Pound
The original Red Hook Lobster Pound in Brooklyn is a cozy seafood shack offering one of our absolute favorite lobster rolls of all time. Their lobster roll is made with fresh Maine claw and knuckle lobster meat, piled on a New England split-top bun. Choose between the classic Maine style, BLT, Tuscan or Connecticut style and pair it with slaw, pickle and your choice of fries, potato salad or green salad. FYI: you can also handpick a live lobster from the tank to be boiled on site or even take one home with you!
The Golden Hour
PC: @thegoldenhournycThe Golden Hour is a new seasonal concept at The Highline Hotel brought to us by the same people behind the beloved Maison Premiere in Williamsburg. Sip on wine straight from the coast of France at this stunning outdoor garden and take on their Lobster Roll, simply prepared with dill and celery salt.
Luke’s Lobster Roll
The first Luke’s Lobster opened in the East Village back in 2009. Ever since, Luke’s proudly serves New Yorkers with easily accessible, quality seafood. Their Lobster Roll includes a quarter pound of chilled, wild caught lobster, in a split top bun with melted lemon butter, mayo and their secret seasoning. If you can’t decide what to go for, we recommend opting for the Luke’s Trio for a taste of their lobster, crab and shrimp rolls.
Grand Banks
PC: @grandbanksnycStep aboard the historic wooden schooner hand-built in 1942 that is now Grand Banks. At this seasonal restaurant, executive chef Kerry, formerly of Eleven Madison Park, offers an elevated twist on your classic lobster roll, prepared with fennel, lemon, dulse emulsion and pickled cucumber.
Ed’s Lobster Bar
Take a breather from the bustle of Nolita and pull up a stool at Ed’s Lobster Bar, a casual New England inspired seafood spot brought to us by chef Ed McFarland. In addition to the classic lobster roll served with an abundance of fries, Ed’s also offers a lobster burger, lobster ravioli and a lobster BLT, amongst other seafood specialities.
Maison Premiere
PC: Cheeky C., YelpMaison Premiere is an experience combining influence from NYC, Paris and New Orleans, and was voted the best oyster bar by the NY Times, so it comes as no surprise that their lobster roll is one of the best in the city. This favorite is made with plump Maine lobster and served on a buttery Brioche Roll with chips on the side. While you’re here, be sure to check out the Absinthe fountain straight out of the Olde Absinthe House in New Orleans.
