Every once in a while we need a great burger, and the double cheeseburger from Au Cheval is one of the most legendary burgers in NYC. This burger is absolutely delicious and was so fun to make, try it out for yourself and let me know what you think.
Ingredients:
Here’s What You’ll Need:
12 oz ground beef – for three 4oz patties
1 brioche bun
1 slice thick cut bacon
one egg
3 slices of American cheese
1 sour pickle
½ red onion
1 tbsp mayo
½ tbsp dijon mustard
chives
salt and pepper
Directions:
Directions:
1. Form 3 patties and season with salt and pepper.
2. Place burger in a heated sauce pan and cook on medium high for 4 minutes on each side. Top each burger with a slice of cheese and cover for an extra minute so the cheese melts. Set aside once complete.
3. Separately, fry an egg in a heated pan for about 3 minutes. Egg should still be runny.
4. Season your bacon with cracked black pepper and cook in a heated pan.
5. While this is going, chop about a quarter of a red onion, slice 8 pickle slices and chop a small amount of chive for garnish.
6. For the dijonaise – combine mayo and mustard.
7. Assemble your burger! Make it open face – on the bottom bun you’ll have your burgers and bacon. Lather the top bun with dijonnaise, pickles and onion, the fried egg, and finally, garnish with chives. Put it all together for some nice yolk porn action and ENJOY!
Enjoy!
