Levain
PC: InsiderNo cookie list could be complete without Levain bakery, so let’s get right to business. At first with just one location on the Upper West Side, their popularity led BFF duo Pam and Connie to open bakeries across the city. This chocolate chip walnut cookie is gigantic, each one weighing in at a whopping six ounces. They are dense and crispy on the outside, totally gooey on the inside and filled with semisweet chocolate and chunks of walnuts throughout. For those with a nut allergy, they now make a walnut-free version, and for those extra chocolate obsessed, they make one with dark chocolate dough.
Chip City
PC: NYCGoChip is giving Levain a run for their money, as they also have expanded from one shop in Astoria to 14 locations, and bake huge cookies with a crispy exterior and soft inside. Their flavors rotate regularly, but they almost always have their classic chocolate chip on the menu, which is a brown sugar cookie with dark chocolate chips. They also sometimes offer their plant based flavor, using coconut oil and oat milk instead of butter and eggs.
L’Appartement 4F

Today, you may think of this hot spot for their incredible croissants, but we’re here to assure you that their chocolate chip cookie is one of the very best we’ve ever had.

PC: ThrillistThe cookies at Seven Grams Caffe are famous for a reason, with a crunchy exterior, chewy interior, and several incredible options to choose from. There’s the classic version, the vegan version, and the gluten free version, so everyone can enjoy the deliciousness. The dietary swaps, like tahini for eggs and olive oil for butter, make them just as good as the OG.
