It’s that time of year when the trees are in full bloom, the warm weather heats up the pavement beneath your feet and the sun is always shining (well, for the most part). For us, this weather means dining al fresco at some of our favorite restaurants. From L&B Spumoni Gardens to Mister Dips atop the William Vale, here are our favorite spots that offer unique outdoor dining:
L&B Spumoni Gardens
If you and your friends are up for a serious food adventure, L&B is your best bet. Since 1939 this family-owned Bensonhurst eatery has been serving up the best sicilian pizza we’ve ever tried. We love L&B for more than just their great pizza though; their outdoor seating is perfect for a large group on a warm summer day.
Randazzo’s Clam Bar
Randazzo’s Clam Bar is an old school seafood restaurant out in Sheepshead Bay. Here, you can pair your fried crab sandwich, stuffed clams or spaghetti with white clam sauce with waterfront views. After your meal, take a walk along Manhattan beach and grab some ice cream along the way.
Gallow Green
PC: theknockturnal.comSituated on the rooftop of the McKittrick Hotel in Chelsea, Gallow Green is a garden and eatery serving up modern American fare. Come for brunch, dinner or just drinks and enjoy their innovative cocktails or punch bowls in this timeless garden.
Mister Dips
Mister Dips is quite a unique outdoor venue located on the rooftop William Vale Hotel. This seasonal eatery makes a mean burger, dirty-dipped waffles fries and a variety of dairy dips– their take on soft serve ice cream. Order one of everything and you’ll be glad you did.
Roberta’s
PC: ChildsPass BlogApart from their incredible Neapolitan style pizzas (bee-sting, anyone?), Roberta’s is known for their expansive outdoor seating at their original Bushwick location, ideal for a meal with a group of friends. Pro Tip: Get here early and order their secret off the menu burger. You can thank us later.
Celestine
Celestine offers Mediterranean cuisine paired with unparalleled views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline. This Dumbo restaurant was brought to us by Perilla alum Chef Garett McMahan, who knows a thing or two about great cooking.
La Birreria
PC: Drink NYCSERRA by La Birreria is Eataly’s greenhouse pop-up restaurant serving you guessed it, the best of Eataly along with house brewed ales and imported beers. Must orders here include the Pacceri Alla Norma, the grilled wagyu beef skewers and anything from the formaggi section. Come here for a date night or happy hour with friends and you won’t be disappointed.
Gran Electrica
PC: Eater NYLong time favorite Gran Electrica is a lively Mexican restaurant in Dumbo that offers outdoor seating in an enclosed patio. The menu here is made up of small plates like fresh ceviche and queso fundido, making it an ideal spot for a summer date night.
