Have you ever gone to a restaurant and wished you could enjoy your meal while sipping on your favorite bottle of wine or speciality spirit? If you answered yes, then keep reading! Here are our eight great restaurants where you can BYOB in New York City.
Tomoe
PC: @infatuation_nycGreenwich Village favorite Tomoe is our top pick for a fun, BYOB sushi meal. This modest restaurant often has a line, but trust us when we says its worth the wait. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends, we promise Tomoe’s susi won’t disappoint.
Eleven B
PC: @elevenbnycEleven B is a casual, family-run Italian restaurant in the East Village that’s been around for over fifty years. Enjoy classics like meat lasagna and eggplant parm, all for under $20 a pop. This, plus their BYOB offering (for $4-$7 per bottle on the weekends), makes it a great spot for a group dinner – birthday’s included.
Tartine
PC: @steakandmeggsTartine is a cozy French spot located in Soho brought to us by chef Thierry Rochard. For over twenty years, Chef Rochard has been serving traditional French pastries and cuisine to New Yorkers – with must orders including the warm onion tarte and homemade potato gnocchi. We love to come here for Brunch, too, so bring your boo and your favorite bottle of champagne for a low-key romantic rendez-vous.
Lucali
PC: @foodiemagicianYes, Lucali serves some of the best pizza in New York but did you also know that it’s BYOB? Mark Lacono opened Lucali in 2006 in an attempt to save a closing candy store that he loved growing up, and never imagined it would turned into one of NYC’s best pizzerias. We love their class thin crust margherita, especially when paired with a great bottle of Pinot Noir.
Peking Duck House
PC: @ramenjunkiePeking Duck House serves some pretty solid Chinese food in a spacious setting with two locations: Midtown and Chinatown. We love this spot for an interactive and lively group dinner, especially when everyone brings along their favorite booze. If you’re going all out, we recommend going with the pre-fixe menu which includes your choice of appetizers and a few entrees for the table, peking duck included.
Song E Napule
PC: @songenapulenycLocated on Houston Street in Soho, Song E Napule is a nod to traditional Naples cuisine. Owners Ciro and Austria serve some pretty standout pizza and pastas here; we LOVE their Tartufata pie topped with truffle cream and prosciutto.
Spicy Village
PC: @bill_addisonIf you’re looking for authentic Henan cuisine with great prices to match, look no further than Spicy Village in Chinatown. Here, Wendy Lian and her family serve dishes including hand-pulled noodles, pork pancakes and super spicy chicken. Whatever you decide to go with, make sure to have an order of the large tray spicy chicken on your table. Pro Tip: this spot is cash only.
Poke Restaurant
PC: @the_sushi_snobLong-time UES staple Poke Restaurant is a casual and cash-only spot, offering traditional Japanese food. Some our favorites here include the scallops and truffle oil, the spicy spider roll, and the spicy tuna handoll. We recommend getting here on the earlier side as there is often a wait!
